Ivelisse Velez vs Lei'D Tapa

On October 11th, 2012, Ivelisse Velez had a tryout match for TNA, going up against Tara.
Unfortunately Ivelisse lost, however she came back on the February 28th, 2013 edition of Impact Wrestling and took on another Indy wrestler, Lei'D Tapa in a TNA Gut Check match.

This time Ivelisse won.

So now are we looking at yet another former WWE wrestler going to TNA?

I hope so because you know that I have been following Ivy's female wrestling career for a long time...way back when she was known as Juliet The Huntress.
I even did an online interview with her.
http://beautiful-wrestling.blogspot.com/2009/07/interview-with-female-wrestler-juliet.html
So I have been pulling for her first with WWE and now with TNA wrestling.
And yeah with Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) in Mexico.
I would love to see her join the TNA Knockouts and maybe headline a TNA PPV one day soon.

Torrie Wilson - WCW, WWF, WWE

I know that I try to devote this blog to the TNA Knockouts...but the most searched for woman on this blog is WCW, WWF, WWE Diva Torrie Wilson.
And since Torrie is no longer actually affiliated with the WWE that kinda makes her independant right?
Okay....I'm reaching.
But anyway, here is Torrie back when she was in the WWE....

The Newest NXT Diva - Anya (Anna Bogomazova)

Has the WWE finally hit paydirt with their newest NXT Diva?
The "Russian Bruiser" Anya (Anna Bogomazova) was signed earlier and a lot of people wonder who this new Diva was.

Anya (Anna Bogomazova)

Well it turns out she is has a black belt in Taekwondo and is a Russian female kickboxer.
Okay...a really good Russian female kickboxer.
She has been....

2006 Kickboxing World Championship - 2nd
2008 Russian Kickboxing Russian Championship - 1st
2008 Kickboxing World Championship - 2nd
2008 Master of the Sport of Russia in Kickboxing
2011 Kickboxing World Cup - 1st
2011 Kickboxing Russian Championship - 2nd

Now...how is all that going to translate over into the ring?
Well if done right it could be awesome.
If done right.
That's the key point.

Anya (Anna Bogomazova)

Imagine playing her as a monster heel with her coming in and laying her opponents out with a knockout kick in like less than a minute of each match at first?
Yeah...she could be a female Goldberg.
Will that happen though?
Well unless the WWE writers read this and say "Wow...that's a great idea!"
I kinda doubt it.

I can always hope though.

Kelly or Eve Torres - New WWE Heel?

As you probably already know, the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the WWE is thinking about having either Kelly or Eve Torres turn heel, then have them feud with each other.
K2, the current Divas Champion (I never dreamed I would be typing that) and Eve have a fairly tight on-screen friendship.
But, back on June 20th, she lost the vote on WWE Raw to be the Diva that faced Brie Bella for WWE Divas Championship (again...never thought I'd be typing that).
And she lost to...Kelly.
Kelly went on to win the title.
Then on Raw on June 27th, Kelly beat Nikki Bella in submission match and got jumped afterwards.
Who made the save?
Eve.
On the Fourth of July Raw, Kelly and Eve beat the Bella Twins.
Then Eve accompanied Kelly Kelly in her Divas Championship match at the Money in the Bank PPV.
Kelly and Eve have been teaming up and saving each other ever since.
But...wouldnt it be cool to have Eve say that it was all an act, and that she had been working herself in closer to Kelly to gain her confidence and learn her weaknesses (wrestling).
What would make this cool would be the idea that this storyline had been formulating for four months, rather than four weeks like most WWE storylines.
Remember back in the day when heel turns took months?
Eve could be Kelly's worst nightmare, having trained beside her and fought beside her in and out of the ring.

Of course I am probably putting wayyyy too much thought into this.
Kelly will probably just snap on night and the next week be totally evil.
Only the brave Eve will be able to stop her and Kelly will go back to face in about a month.

But wouldn't Eve make a great heel?

Velvet Sky "Wrestling's Sexiest Woman"?

eve torres - maryse - wwe wrestling pictures
Well I said in the last entry that the last minute add on women's wrestling match at Wrestlemania 26 would probably be Kelly Kelly, Eve and Gail Kim taking on Michelle McCool, Layla and Maryse.
I wasn't far off.
It was Michelle McCool, Layla, Maryse, Alicia Fox and Vickie Guerrero taking on Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Gail Kim and Beth Phoenix.
See?
The WWE isn't predictable at all.

Michelle McCool, Layla, Maryse, Alicia Fox and Vickie Guerrero won at Wrestlemania, so they turned around and repeated the same wrestling match the next night on Raw.
This time the winners were Eve Torres, Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix, and Gail Kim.

BTW...the WWE has some new Divas Wrestlemania pics up at their website here:
http://www.wwe.com/shows/wrestlemania/photos/wrestlemaniadivasphotos/

They also have a gallery of the WWE Divas in their gowns at Saturday's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony that you can see here:
http://www.wwe.com/shows/wrestlemania/photos/halloffamedivasphotos/

And the WWE has signed yet another model, but at least this time they are going to use her as a ring announcer.
Florida model Brittney Beede has been signed to a developmental deal and she is using the name Jamie Keyes.
You may remember her as the winner of Kevin Nash's search for a new valet on TNA last year.

tara - darrney - tna knockouts
And speaking of TNA, remember what I said about TNA with Tara and Daffney?
Well they didn't go all the way with that, BUT, on the last TNA Impact, they did have Tara face Daffney in a First Blood Match for the TNA Knockouts Championship.

velvet sky - female wrestling - TNA
And in more TNA Knockout news, in the annual "PWI Poll" issue, Pro-Wrestling Illustrated named Velvet Sky "Wrestling's Sexiest Woman".
The list went like this....

Velvet Sky (TNA) - 14%
Maryse (WWE) - 12%
Melina (WWE) - 9%
Lacey von Erich (TNA) -7%
Kelly Kelly (WWE) - 6%
Cheerleader Melissa (Was TNA but now Indy) - 5%
Madison Rayne (TNA) - 3%
Others- 39%

So out of seven named women, four were TNA.
Are the Divas losing their edge?

Female Wrestling - The FCW Divas

Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) is the "training ground" for the WWE Superstars.
You may remember it's former incarnation, Championship Wrestling from Florida from "back in the day".

FCW may just be a developmental territory, but I've been watching some of the female wrestling matches from there, and I have to say, some of these wrestlers are pretty impressive, maybe even out-performing some of the Diva's on Raw and SmackDown!

I really wish they took more of their ring talent from the Indy wrestling promotions (like TNA has a habit of doing with SHIMMER), but as I said, from what I have seen, they have made some really good choices.
Yes...for once I am actually praising WWE.

So here are some of the women wrestlers currently wrestling for FCW, and waiting to move up to the WWE...
AJ Lee - FCW
AJ Lee
AJ Lee was born April Jeanette on March 19, 1987 in Union City, New Jersey and was trained by Jay Lethal, Mo Sexton and Azrieal.
Aksana - beautiful women wrestling
Aksana
Aksana or IFBB Figure Pro Zivile Raudoniene was signed by the WWE in October of 2009.
Courtney Taylor - female wrestling
Courtney Taylor
Courtney Taylor (Beverly Mullins) was a model before she signed with the WWE, and has wrestled in FCW as Daisy, Wesley Holiday and Courtney Taylor.
Jemma Palmer - WWE
Jemma Palmer
Jemma Palmer, an English model and former UK Gladiator, played Inferno on the UK version of American Gladiators called simply Gladiators.
Jenna is a trained submission wrestler which could make her character pretty interesting if they use that.
Jillian Beyor - wrestling
Jillian Beyor
Before FCW, Jillian was a model for Florida Bikinis, Hawaiian Tropic, Stare Magazine, Tropic Beauty, Monster Tower, was a member of the USA National Bikini Team, and apperaed on the CW reality show, Beauty and the Geek.
Yes, no wrestling experience.
Liviana - divas
Liviana
Liviana (Karlee Perez) got some press for being busted for a DWI in June of 2009.
She started out working under the ring name Candy Girl, then her name was changed to Liviana.
Naomi Night - women wrestling
Naomi Night
Naomi Night (Trinity McCray) was a cheerleader for the Orlando Magic before she was signed by the WWE in August of 2009.
Again, no wrestling experience.
Sarona Snuka - female wrestling
Sarona Snuka
Yes, this is the daughter of legendary WWF star Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.
Sarona is related to wrestlers Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Afa Anoa'i, Samula Anoa'i, Solofa Fatu (Rikishi), Tonga Fifita (Meng, King Tonga) , the late Eddie Fatu (Umaga), Rodney Anoa'i (Yokozuna), Matt Anoa'i (Rosey) and more in this incredible wrestling family.

Of course many of the current WWE Divas were trained at FCW and have many appearances there including Savannah (Angela Fong), Natalya and Gail Kim.

For more details on the FCW you can go here:

Wrestling News and Rumors - Maria, Mickie James, Trish Stratus and More

Maria-WWE-Female Wrestling
WWE Diva and fan favorite Maria will be off WWE shows for awhile while her appearance on Celebrity Apprentice airs.
Maria has a clause in her contract that she can't appear on any other TV shows while Apprentice is airing.

Mickie James-wwe-wrestling
Couple of quick Mickie James notes....

Mickie will be showing up at the Newburgh Mall - Center Court in Newburgh, NY from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 30.
You can find out more info here:
http://www.northeastwrestling.com/

Mickie also has a new website up that refers to her as "country music artist Mickie James".
You can see that here:
http://mickiejames.com./

Michelle McCool-wwe wrestling
A belated happy birthday to WWE Diva Michelle McCool who turned 30 on January 25th.
Speaking of Michelle, have you noticed that she won the WWE Women's Championship back on June 28, 2009?
If you don't count the 10,778 day claim by the WWE for the Faboulous Moolah (WWE does not recognize any of the title changes before 1984) , that makes Michelle the twelfth longest reigning Women's Champion so far.

Trish Stratus-wrestling news and rumors
Over at http://trishstratus.com/, former WWE Diva Trish Stratus will be giving away one of four Trish Stratus outfits.
Donate ten dollars to Carmelina's Home there and you will be entered in the contest with a chance to win one of the costumes, including the one she wore at WrestleMania XIX in Seattle when she won the WWE Women's Championship.
Carmelina's is a holistic program in the treatment and recovery of addictions, substance abuse and/or emotional issues for women looking to transform and change their current life journey.

Lilian Garcia-WWE professional wrestling
And another former WWE Diva, Lilian Garcia just sold the dress she wore at WrestleMania 21 on eBay for 780.00.

Looks like you can pick up a lot of wrestling gear on eBay these days....

Katie Lea Burchill-female wrestling picsAnd finally, the beautiful (and under-rated) Katie Lea Burchill has been moved back to the Raw roster.
As you recall, Katie was on Raw before being moved to the wasteland known as ECW.

The Divas Versus the Knockouts, Who Would Win? Part One

So who would win in a knock down drag out brawl between the WWE Divas and the TNA Knockouts?
I decided to try this out myself in my head.
Now I have to admit, I only have about 30 some odd years of watching wrestling and 14 years of martial arts experience to base this stuff on, so your mileage may vary.

Well first up, the Divas have a slight number advantage, 17 on the roster as opposed to 15 on the Knockouts side.

Both teams get their Captains....
Since this is war, the Diva's differ to the most experienced women on their roster.
Believe it or not, Jillian debuted in 1998 as Macaela Mercedes on the independent circuit.
Mickie James debuted in 1999, so there you have the two captains.

The Knockouts have a harder time.
ODB, Daffney, Alissa (Cheerleader Melissa), and Ayako all debuted in 1998-1999.
So in the spirit of co-operation, the Knockouts get four Captains.

So first off we have the WWE "rookie" Brie Bella against the TNA rookie, Madison Rayne.
Brie has held the...ummmm....well she was on the Fox reality show Meet My Folks.....
Madison on the other hand was the Ohio Championship Womens Wrestling Champ twice and one half of the Shimmer Tag Team Championship with Nevaeh.
So advantage Madison.

First match, Madison over Brie.

Second match, Brie's sister Nikki against Knockout "bad girl" (or loon) Rhaka Khan.
Nikki was...ummm...okay, she was one of the World Cup Twins for Budweiser....
Rhaka on the other hand is six foot two and has wrestled for Deep South Wrestling (DSW), Japan's Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX, Full Impact Pro, Women's Extreme Wrestling and the Professional Girl Wrestling Association.
Advantage Rhaka.

Second match, Rhaka over Nikki.

Third match, Alicia Fox versus Christy Hemme.
Alicia was actually the OVW Women's Champion at one time.
Christy has wrestled for WWE, TNA, Queens of Chaos in France, Heavy on Wrestling and Women Superstars Uncensored.
Gonna have to give this one to Christy.

Third Match, Christy over Alicia.

Fourth match, Sojourner Bolt versus Layla.
Layla was a dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines and the Miami Heat.
Sojo was the Midwest Intensity Wrestling Women's Champion, the NWA Midwest Women's Champion, the OVW Women's Champion three times, the World League Wrestling Women's Champion twice, and the Hardcore Wrestling Association Women's Champion.
Layla, no matter how hot she is, is lucky to get outta this one alive.

Fourth match, Sojo wipes the mat up with Layla.

Fifth match, Taylor Wilde versus Kelly Kelly.
Okay, I admit it, I hated Kelly at first. But she has improved.
But putting the former Hawaiian Tropic and Venus Swimwear bikini model against the former New Vision Pro Wrestling Womens Champion, RingDivas FightGirl World Champion, TNA Women's Knockout Champion and co-holder of the Women Superstars Uncensored Tag Team Championship (with Amy Lee)?
Advantage Taylor.

Fifth match, Taylor Wilde.

Sixth match, Rosa Mendes versus Sarita.
Now Rosa did hold the Ohio Valley Wrestling Women's Championship once.
While Sarita (Sarah Stock/Dark Angel) has only held the Can-Am Wrestling Women's Championship, Federación Internacional de Lucha Libre Women's Championship and the Lucha Libre Feminil Juvenil Championship....I have seen the brutal matches with Dark Angel versus Princesa Sugey. At least one went 45 minutes.
Sarita easy.

Sixth match, Sarita over Rosa.

Now we get down to Awesome Kong versus..well lets just get Eve and Maria out of this now.
The 6'1, 272 pound Kong versus Eve and Maria both at once.
Eve, 5'8, 131 and Maria 5'7, 120 pounds.
One Awesome Bomb and one Awesome Splash and Maria and Eve are on the injured reserve list.

Seventh match, Awesome Kong.

Now the Diva's are really beginning to worry.
But they are down to the core fighters on both sides.
And things may change just a bit in part two.....

Last Night on Smackdown-Michelle McCool and Gail Kim

Gail Kim got beat last night by Michelle McCool in a number one contender match on Smackdown.
Well that's kinda to be expected right?
I don't think they are ready to do face versus face and have Melina go up against Gail.
The match was good, as the matches with Gail and Michelle are.
Gail looked like she is moving back towards her "submission specialist" move set.
Maybe the WWE writers ARE reading my blogs since I stated awhile back that I thought she should do that.
If so...thank you!
Mixing pro wrestling with MMA style submissions (especially in the Diva's division) is to me a very good idea.
female submission wrestling is very popular on the net, and the WWE could tap into that easily.

Picture this.....
A male heel comes out and starts running his mouth.
One of the Divas comes out and tells him to shut up.
Since she's a girl, the heel takes a swing at her.
The Diva ducks the swing, trips him and clamps on a kimura or a keylock or an armbar or even a triangle choke, applies the pressure and makes him tap out!
This instantly makes up for Wrestlemania and suddenly gives the Diva division new street cred.

Outlandish you may say?
As I recall, martial arts were originally designed so that smaller, weaker opponents could take out larger stronger ones.
You know Bruce Lee was about 5 '6 and his weighed in at around 145.
Gail has her submission moves, Beth Phoenix was a collegiate wrestler and aren't Michelle and Maryse also trained in martial arts?

Now if you read my blogs, you know how much I hate gimmick matches.
But if done right, this could elevate the Diva division to new heights.
And BTW, lets make that a one shot, limited storyline thing with a male wrestler.
I don't really wanna see Triple H versus Maryse as the main even on Raw.

WWE Diva and TNA Knockout News

WrestleZone.com has an article and interview with former TNA Knockout Roxxi Laveaux at their site.
You can read the article here.

Tonight on WWE SmackDown!, Alicia Fox and Michelle McCool will go up against Gail Kim and Melina.

The Denver Post.com has an article on Dr Death, Steve Williams and Former WWF Diva Dawn Marie's "Wrestler Rescue" work to help him out.
http://www.denverpost.com/headlines/ci_12347601

No certain return date for TNA Knockout Christy Hemme.
Christy is out with a neck injury, and she says she doesnt like the idea of surgery to repair it.
I can't blame her.
You can hear more on the May 13th interview at revolution31.com
http://www.revolution31.com/blog/

It appears that Sarah Stock is going to be called Sarita in TNA.
Funny...she's Canadian.
Oh well.
You can find out more at TNA En Espanol Con Willie Urbina.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz9RT0K0W3w

And the WWE has signed blonde model and dancer Rachael Carr, who has been a body double for Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue to a developmental deal.
Imagine this, if things go well with her training, we could see a female British stable with Katie Lee, Layla El and Rachael.

WWE Diva Updates: Carly, Lacey Von Erich, Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler and Gail Kim

Lacey is not going to the WWE

The WWE has a new blond working for them named Carly.
I don't know who she is yet, but she debuted in a tag match at a Florida Championship Wrestling live event, teamed with Angela Fong.
Sightings of this blond may have led to the rumors that Lacey Von Erich had signed with the WWE, a rumor Lacey squashed on her blog.
I wonder if Carly is a model or a wrestler?
Since she already has had a match, I'm guessing maybe a wrestler.

Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson is on the upcoming NBC reality show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”.
http://www.t-wilson.org/ has more info on this, and also info on the WWE's "Classic Divas" photo layout on they just put up on WWE.com.

And NBC just seems to be scooping up more former WWE Divas as Stacy Keibler will be hosting the "InfieldFEST" activities before the Preakness horse race in Baltimore, Md. on Saturday, May 16.
InfieldFEST will have a volleyball tournament, rock concerts and NASCAR exhibit.
Oddly enough, ZZ Top will be performing during the event and as ypou may recall, "Legs" was Stacy's theme song in WWE for awhile.
I wonder if she'll get up on stage?

Just a weird feeling I'm getting, but I'm thinking we may see a Gail Kim heel turn coming up.
I have no real evidence, it's just a guess.

WWE SmackDown!,Gail Kim versus Michelle McCool

Last night on SmackDown!, Gail Kim and Michelle McCool put on a really decent match.
If I have to say anything about Michelle, despite the internet grief she gets, I think she is turning into a really solid performer.
She has worked on her skills and it shows.
So bad mouth her all you want, I think last night's match was one of the best Diva's matches I have seen in a while.

In case you missed it, here's the match posted on YouTube by KingHaffnerWWE1

The first part of the match starts here at about 3:51

And finishes here.

I really don't want to start getting pumped up on the WWE's Diva division, because every time I do, they do something (Wrestlemania) that makes me hate the way they treat them (Victoria's last match) and I regret getting excited.

WrestleMania 25, Official Diva Confirmations

At the pre-WrestleMania 25 press conference in New York City, Kelly Kelly and Eve made an announcement that Jackie Gayda, Molly Holly, Victoria, Tammy Sytch (Sunny) and Torrie Wilson will be in the 25 Diva-Battle Royal.
I guess Molly changed her mind. I had heard earlier that she wouldn't be there.
I'm still predicting Gail Kim to win.
And I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and say the last two in the ring will be Gail and Maryse.

Here is the announcement by Kelly and Eve.....

WWE Divas News

Candice Michelle, healed in time for Wrestlemania?

Catalina White (aka Saylor James) was released from FCW (WWE's training ground) for getting a tattoo.....?
Since her ring name was "James" there was a rumor she would be brought up to the WWE as Mickie James "sister".

There is a rumor floating around that Chris Jericho is dating Kelly Kelly.
Isn't Chris married?

Candice Michelle is still recuperating from her ankle injury.
The accident prone Diva is expected to be back in action by March 23 for the WWE Raw show in Kansas City, Missouri.

Lilian Garcia will be singing "God Bless America" at the Big East Semi-Final Championship on March 13th at Madison Square Garden.

It appears Madusa will not be at Wrestlemania 25. She said on Madusa.com that her wrestling was in the past.

TNA Knockouts and WWE Divas News

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

UGO.com has an interview up with TNA Knockout Angelina Love.
You can find out what her favorites horror movies are, whos her favorite wrestler and if she parties or not.
http://www.ugo.com/sports/angelina-love/

And speaking of Angelina and TNA, on tonight's TNA Impact, The Beautiful People will face Taylor Wilde and Madison Rayne.

Former WWE Diva Amy Weber has announced on her MySpace page that she is pregnant.
You can see for yourself at http://www.myspace.com/amyweber

Really nice article about WWE Diva Natalya Neidhart here
http://www.standard-freeholder.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1452336

And finally...
You know Wrestlemania 25 isn't that far away.
What's the Divas match going to be?
Please tell me it's not gonna be a gimmick match, or an intergender match.
Please just let two divas get the spotlight that night with no extra baggage.

WWE's Royal Rumble and TNA's Against All Odds

Of course tonight is the WWE's Royal Rumble PPV in Detroit.
The Women's Wrestling Champion Beth Phoenix will be facing Melina.
And if Rosa Mendes doesn't show up or interfere, I'll put away my crystal ball.

At TNA's "Against All Odds" PPV on February 8th Awesome Kong will be wrestling ODB in a Knockout's Title Match.
I had heard that Kong has a couple of physical problems, so I wonder how this is gonna work out.
I can't really see ODB getting the title belt.

More Victoria News, WWE Diva to TNA Knockout?

And more to add to the Victoria story......

It seems now that TNA is interested in signing the former WWE Diva.
Could this happen?
If the WWE let her go, it could happen in 90 days. If they let her retire but kept her on her contract, she'd be tied up till the contract expires.
And would she even go to TNA?
A TNA schedule would be much less grueling than a WWE schedule. Less touring, less house shows.
And TNA would most likely give Victoria the push that the WWE didnt seem to want to.
Victoria as the TNA Knockouts Women's Champion?

With Awesome Kong being out longer than was anticipated, the womens ranks need some juice.
Christy Hemme has already worked with Victoria.
Raisha Saeed (Cheerleader Melissa) had a tryout match on the May 26, 2006 edition of WWE Heat against Victoria.
Velvet Sky also worked a match on WWE Heat with Victoria.
Sharmell and Jacqueline of course knows her from their WWE days.
So it's not like she wouldn't have any friends in the locker room.

But really, as much as I can see it happening, I really don't think it will.
