The Beautiful Women of Wrestling 2 to Female Wrestling

Yes I have changed the title of the blog.
Why?
Well I already have my blog The Beautiful Women of Wrestling, and this one being The Beautiful Women of Wrestling 2 just seemed to kinda make this one just seem like the others "weak sister".
So I decided to make the title Female Wrestling, because that's what its all about right?
I considered actually making it a "Name My Blog" thing, but after some of the comments I have to go through, I was afraid....LOL
But I'll still continue to do WWE Divas here and TNA Knockouts, both past present and future.
I used to focus more on TNA here and more on WWE on the other, but since the WWE seems to be anti-blogger right now, I might just stay with TNA because they seem to like free publicity.
Anyway, I thought I'd post a reason why this occurred and let everyone know whats going on.

So stay tuned for more female wrestling.......

WWE Diva and TNA Knockout News

WrestleZone.com has an article and interview with former TNA Knockout Roxxi Laveaux at their site.
You can read the article here.

Tonight on WWE SmackDown!, Alicia Fox and Michelle McCool will go up against Gail Kim and Melina.

The Denver Post.com has an article on Dr Death, Steve Williams and Former WWF Diva Dawn Marie's "Wrestler Rescue" work to help him out.
http://www.denverpost.com/headlines/ci_12347601

No certain return date for TNA Knockout Christy Hemme.
Christy is out with a neck injury, and she says she doesnt like the idea of surgery to repair it.
I can't blame her.
You can hear more on the May 13th interview at revolution31.com
http://www.revolution31.com/blog/

It appears that Sarah Stock is going to be called Sarita in TNA.
Funny...she's Canadian.
Oh well.
You can find out more at TNA En Espanol Con Willie Urbina.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz9RT0K0W3w

And the WWE has signed blonde model and dancer Rachael Carr, who has been a body double for Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue to a developmental deal.
Imagine this, if things go well with her training, we could see a female British stable with Katie Lee, Layla El and Rachael.

TNA Knockout Updates

O-D-B

A couple of TNA updates today....

There's a webmatch between ODB and Velvet Sky posted on YouTube....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1aLWUvj1LY

It appears that TNA Knockout Roxxi has been released from the company.
At least her profile is gone from the TNA website.
Roxxi and Rhaka Khan have been serving a 60-day suspension as punishment for a backstage altercation several weeks ago at iMPACT!
For the moment Rhaka seems to be safe since her profile is still up.

WWE Diva Updates: Carly, Lacey Von Erich, Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler and Gail Kim

Lacey is not going to the WWE

The WWE has a new blond working for them named Carly.
I don't know who she is yet, but she debuted in a tag match at a Florida Championship Wrestling live event, teamed with Angela Fong.
Sightings of this blond may have led to the rumors that Lacey Von Erich had signed with the WWE, a rumor Lacey squashed on her blog.
I wonder if Carly is a model or a wrestler?
Since she already has had a match, I'm guessing maybe a wrestler.

Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson is on the upcoming NBC reality show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”.
http://www.t-wilson.org/ has more info on this, and also info on the WWE's "Classic Divas" photo layout on they just put up on WWE.com.

And NBC just seems to be scooping up more former WWE Divas as Stacy Keibler will be hosting the "InfieldFEST" activities before the Preakness horse race in Baltimore, Md. on Saturday, May 16.
InfieldFEST will have a volleyball tournament, rock concerts and NASCAR exhibit.
Oddly enough, ZZ Top will be performing during the event and as ypou may recall, "Legs" was Stacy's theme song in WWE for awhile.
I wonder if she'll get up on stage?

Just a weird feeling I'm getting, but I'm thinking we may see a Gail Kim heel turn coming up.
I have no real evidence, it's just a guess.

Angelina Love Updates

The new TNA Knockouts Champion, Angelina Love, suffered her third concussion at the hands (or rather the hips) of Taylor Wilde at the Lockdown pay-per-view .
Well it wasnt the third by Taylor, but this is the third concussion Love has suffered since joining TNA in October of 2007.
You can read more about it on Angelina's MySpace blog here
http://www.myspace.com/angel_williams14

This kinda worries me because I have followed Angelina's career since she was wrestling as Angel Williams.
(Remember the incredibly toned abs and corn rows?)
Angelina has been wrestling since 2000, that's a pretty decent career length in female wrestling these days.

Concussions are serious business in pro wrestling.
Just ask former WWE superstar Chris Nowinski. He's devoted a great deal of time studing concussions and their affects of atheletes, especially pro wrestlers.
Chris suffered at least six in his career.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/24/law.nowinski/index.html

I hope Angelina does well after this incident.
And even though I want to see this talented young lady in the squared circle (or octagon), I hope she remembers that nothing takes the place of her health.

WWE SmackDown!,Gail Kim versus Michelle McCool

Last night on SmackDown!, Gail Kim and Michelle McCool put on a really decent match.
If I have to say anything about Michelle, despite the internet grief she gets, I think she is turning into a really solid performer.
She has worked on her skills and it shows.
So bad mouth her all you want, I think last night's match was one of the best Diva's matches I have seen in a while.

In case you missed it, here's the match posted on YouTube by KingHaffnerWWE1

The first part of the match starts here at about 3:51

And finishes here.

I really don't want to start getting pumped up on the WWE's Diva division, because every time I do, they do something (Wrestlemania) that makes me hate the way they treat them (Victoria's last match) and I regret getting excited.

Breaking News: Ayako Hamada to Wrestle for TNA

Ayako Hamada-wrestling

Wow...this kind of amazed me.

Female Japanese wrestling star Ayako Hamada has signed with TNA.
Her final match in Japan will be on April 19th at the Ito Dojo show.
Ayako has wrestled for All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling, Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), HUSTLE, ARSION, GAEA Japan, Grupo Internacional Revolucion, NEO Japan, Universal Wrestling Association and the World Wrestling Association among other promotions.

She made her pro wrestling debut August 9, 1998 and since then has held several wrestling titles.
I can only imagine how much this will boost the TNA Knockout division.

WrestleMania 25, Official Diva Confirmations

At the pre-WrestleMania 25 press conference in New York City, Kelly Kelly and Eve made an announcement that Jackie Gayda, Molly Holly, Victoria, Tammy Sytch (Sunny) and Torrie Wilson will be in the 25 Diva-Battle Royal.
I guess Molly changed her mind. I had heard earlier that she wouldn't be there.
I'm still predicting Gail Kim to win.
And I'm gonna go way out on a limb here and say the last two in the ring will be Gail and Maryse.

Here is the announcement by Kelly and Eve.....

Traci Brooks Injury Update

An update from Traci Brooks on her MySpace blog.....

"hey everyone
just a quick update from So Cal Val and I from Iraq...
been here for a week and words cant describe what its like over here...we ve met over 20 000 soldiers men and women from the ages of 18 and up and been all over Iraq..
stranded right now in Baghdad due to a sandstorm so we had a minute to catch up with everyone back home...
well i had a bit of a boo boo and got injured..i was of course doing something i shouldn't have been doing and burnt the right side of my chest pretty bad..
i was firing a 240 off of an M rap and the shell kicked back and fell down my shirt and burnt me pretty bad..."

I don't even know what to say.
There are about a million things that spring to mind.....
But all I will say is that I hope Traci recovers quickly.
You can read her blog at her MySpace page here:
http://www.myspace.com/tnaknockouttracibrooks

And over at SoCal Val's MySpace page, she has a very cool picture of a WW2 style pinup of her....

TNA looking for a new lead Knockout

Ms.Payton Banks (Rain)

TNA is looking for a lead face Knockout to replace the void left by Gail Kim.
The Sarah Stock signing looks like it's marred in paperwork at the moment with her having to fulfill commitments to CMLL.
So where do they go to get the "next big thing"?
TNA has a habit of getting REAL wrestlers, so dont look for any bikini models.
I figure they will go to the Indys, SHIMMER in particular.

They have already used Ms. Payton Banks (Rain), and I think they should have kept her.
(BTW, Angelina Love and Rain have a limited edition poster for sale on ebay. It's personalized and autographed and you get a certificate of Authenticity AND a 4x6 picture of Angelina and Rain signing the poster.
You can see the auction here
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180336146947
The current bid at this moment is $58.00. )

How cool would it be to see MsChif in TNA?
Daffney (Shannon Spruill) is already there, so that combo as a tag team or Daffney as her manager...awesome.

Sara Del Rey?
VERY talented.

Mercedes Martinez?
Again, very talented and experienced.

Victoria?
She left the WWE. But it looks like we may see her in MMA first.

Daizee Haze?
I think Daizee would be a good choice, and she has worked some TNA matches in the past.

Allison Danger?
That would be too good. Allison and Cheerleader Melissa on the same show?

TNA Wrestling, Traci Brooks and SoCal Val

On March 14th through the 25th, several celebrities from sports and entertainment will be making a trip to Iraq to support our troops there.
Among the celebrities that are going will be TNA Knockouts Traci Brooks and SoCal Val.
This is Traci's second trip to Iraq for the troops, the first was in 2006.
Traci and SoCal also have a new photo shoot up at TNAwrestling.com, that looks like they may be pushing the idea that SoCal had for the TNA Knockouts to pose for a certain well known men's magazine that the WWE supposedly isn't going to work with anymore.
Besides the new photo shoot, you can get updates on the Traci / SoCal trip to Iraq there as well.
They also have footage posted from Traci's first trip.

TNA Knockouts and WWE Divas News

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

UGO.com has an interview up with TNA Knockout Angelina Love.
You can find out what her favorites horror movies are, whos her favorite wrestler and if she parties or not.
http://www.ugo.com/sports/angelina-love/

And speaking of Angelina and TNA, on tonight's TNA Impact, The Beautiful People will face Taylor Wilde and Madison Rayne.

Former WWE Diva Amy Weber has announced on her MySpace page that she is pregnant.
You can see for yourself at http://www.myspace.com/amyweber

Really nice article about WWE Diva Natalya Neidhart here
http://www.standard-freeholder.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1452336

And finally...
You know Wrestlemania 25 isn't that far away.
What's the Divas match going to be?
Please tell me it's not gonna be a gimmick match, or an intergender match.
Please just let two divas get the spotlight that night with no extra baggage.

TNA Signs Madison Rayne and Sarah Stock

TNA has always seemed to take their women's wrestling division more seriously than the WWE.
While the WWE will sign up models and people with little or no wrestling background, TNA seems to go to the ranks of the Indy promotions to get their talent.
Their latest two sign ups to the TNA roster are no different.

Madison Rayne made her pro wrestling debut in 2006 and has worked for World Xtreme Wrestling, Ohio Championship Wrestling, Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling, SHIMMER Women Athletes, Insanity Pro Wrestling and Big Time Wrestling among others.
Shes also held the OCW Women's Championship twice and currently holds one half of the Shimmer Tag Team Championship along with her partner Nevaeh.

TNA's other recent acquisition is CMLL's Canadian Luchadora Sarah Stock or Dark Angel. I have done tons of write ups on Sarah on my Luchadora blogs so there's not a lot I can add here.
But I cannot wait until Sarah steps into the TNA octagon to see how she does there.

The Return of GLOW ?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Today we take a step away from WWE and TNA.....

Big Vision Entertainment (the creators of Wrestling Society X) look to be restarting GLOW.
They had an open casting call on Tuesday January 27th. 2009, looking for new wrestlers.
Well not just new wrestlers, as their press release said, " You do not need experience in professional wrestling to take part. We are looking for a very wide range of types and styles of people. "

So I'm guessing what they are doing is getting good looking women, testing them for camera presence and then going on to train them as wrestlers?
As you probably already know, GLOW was formed in 1985 by David B. McLane along with Jackie Stallone (yes Sylvester Stallone's mother).
It was kinda like Hee Haw with wrestling.
It had colorful characters, beautiful women, and over-the-top (read dumb) comedy sketches.

As you may also know, that's where Lisa Moretti (WWE's Ivory) got her start as Tina Ferrari, and Mando Guerrero (the son of legendary Gory Guerrero and the brother of Chavo, Hector Guerrero and Eddie Guerrero) was the original GLOW trainer.

I'm interested to see how this will pan out.
Even though I watched GLOW in it's heyday, I can't sit through an entire episode now.
Are they going to reboot the series?
Make it serious this time?
Female wrestling does fairly well in Lucha Libre and Joshi Puroresu is a constant draw in Japan.
How could GLOW expect to out do SHIMMER in the US?

WWE Divas Last Night On WWE Raw

Last night on WWE Raw, Melina and Kelly Kelly took on Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall.
The match didn't last long because Rosa Mendez ran in.
Where was she at the Royal Rumble?
Anyway, her interference allowed Beth Phoenix to get the win.

The big question right now is will Trish Stratus have a match at Wrestlemania 25?
The two main ideas for possible opponents seem to be Beth Phoenix or Michelle McCool.
But why? Both of them are ex-champions.
Either way, a Trish Stratus appearance is sure to sell tickets, even if it makes no sense.

More Victoria News, WWE Diva to TNA Knockout?

And more to add to the Victoria story......

It seems now that TNA is interested in signing the former WWE Diva.
Could this happen?
If the WWE let her go, it could happen in 90 days. If they let her retire but kept her on her contract, she'd be tied up till the contract expires.
And would she even go to TNA?
A TNA schedule would be much less grueling than a WWE schedule. Less touring, less house shows.
And TNA would most likely give Victoria the push that the WWE didnt seem to want to.
Victoria as the TNA Knockouts Women's Champion?

With Awesome Kong being out longer than was anticipated, the womens ranks need some juice.
Christy Hemme has already worked with Victoria.
Raisha Saeed (Cheerleader Melissa) had a tryout match on the May 26, 2006 edition of WWE Heat against Victoria.
Velvet Sky also worked a match on WWE Heat with Victoria.
Sharmell and Jacqueline of course knows her from their WWE days.
So it's not like she wouldn't have any friends in the locker room.

But really, as much as I can see it happening, I really don't think it will.
