TNA Knockout Rebel (Tanea Brooks) made her return to Impact Wrestling om May 15th. Yeah I know it took me a while. But anyway she is back. Rebel and Brooke took on the Dollhouse in a less than stellar match-up. "Less than stellar" as in they lost. By the way, Josh did mention during the match that the rest of the Menagerie returned to circus life, tying up that loose end.
On TNA Impact Wrestling this week we got Madison Rayne vs. Angelina Love.
Really this was a brawl more than a wrestling match...but we thought it would be didn't we?
Lots of forearms, elbows, punches, kicks, while Velvet Sky watched from outside.
Angelina got dropkicked out of the ring and she argues with Velvet evidently for not helping her.
Then Madison nails Angelina with a baseball slide.
She starts wailing on Angelina, the ref pulls her off, she says something to Velvet and while the ref is helping Angelina back into the ring, Velvet nails Madison with a DDT.
Velvet rolls Madison back into the ring and Angelina gets the pin.
And then of course the newly reformed Beautiful People celebrate in the ring.
The battle of the TNA Knockouts as Lei’D Tapa took on Gail Kim (who is roughly half her size) in a match to see if Tapa stayed in TNA.
I imagine you can guess the result....
Yeah I know I am kinda late with this...but "stuff" came up....you know?
On TNA Impact Wrestling on March 20th, Lei’D Tapa took on her
former...ummm...boss?...Gail Kim in a loser leaves TNA match.
You would think that Lei’D Tapa being 5'11 and 220 pounds and Gail being
5'4 and 120 pounds, this match would be kinda one sided right?
Nope.
Hey....it's "wrestling".
This is performance art people!
Anyway, they start out with several good exchanges with Gail and Lei'D.
Gail starts getting the upper hand with attacks to one of Lei'D's legs which I swear looks as big around as Gail's waist!
Gail looks on an awesome standing (well hanging actually) Dragon Sleeper and almost submits Tapa.
Tapa breaks free but eventually goes down to Gail's "Eat Defeat" finisher.
So Tapa is gone from TNA.
Kinda.
When Tapa was signed to TNA she first went to Ohio Valley Wrestling (their training ground) where she was trained some more.
She is the niece of wrestling legend The Barbarian and actually started wrestling in 2011.
Tapa is now back full swing in OVW, even though TNA and OVW have now cut ties.
Interestingly, a LOT of OVW alumni have gone on to the WWE...
Of course I am happy to see the Alpha Female in TNA.
I'm happy to see any good wrestler get a big break like this.
I thought the pairing of AF and Lei'd Tapa was inspired.
I hate to say this...but it really is about 400 pounds of dominate powerful athletes versus what, 300 pounds of basically bikini models?
Alpha and Lei'd should have crushed them outright.
Maybe played with them a bit to show their dominance...then pinned them.
And that's pretty much what they did.
Lei'd ended the match with her Fireman's carry stunner that looked like it almost broke Madison in half.
Of course after the match there was an attempted beat down that was broken up by ODB.
I'm sorry, but I cant see ODB taking out Alpha, Lei'd AND Gail Kim all at once.
Sorry.
